Cell Stem Cell

Cell Stem Cell is an affiliate journal of the ISSCR. It is a broad-spectrum journal that covers the entire spectrum of stem cell biology. Topics covered include pluripotency and reprogramming, tissue-specific stem cells, differentiation, genomics and systems biology, stem cell niches, disease models, and clinical and translational insights.

  • SCN-RDMM Catalyst Grant

    Description: The Stem Cell Network and the Rare Diseases: Models & Mechanisms (RDMM) Network are thrilled to renew their collaboration in support of the RDMM Catalyst Grant program. This initiative supports cutting-edge research by linking researchers with expertise in genes, pathways, or cellular systems with clinician-scientists working on new or understudied human rare disease genes.

  • Clinical Trial (CLIN2) Awards

    Description: CIRM’s CLIN2 funding program will support the completion of phase 1, 2, or 3 clinical trials— including pivotal trials— for regenerative medicine therapies that address significant unmet medical needs and have the potential to provide transformative benefits to patients, their families, and the healthcare system. Through this program, CIRM creates funding opportunities for regenerative medicine clinical research that otherwise do not exist or are of limited scope. CIRM will devote internal resources and leverage a network of world-class subject matter experts to help ensure that funded projects have a comprehensive clinical development strategy aimed at obtaining marketing approval with a well-developed plan for ensuring patient access.

    Deadline: April 30, 2026

    Funding Amount: The award amount ranges from $8 million to $15 million and is dependent on the stage of the clinical trial and the for-profit versus non-profit status of the applicant organization. Projects may have a maximum planned duration of four years.

  • Schmidt Science Fellows

    Description: Our mission is to change how science is done. Working with the scientific community, we want to help break down barriers to interdisciplinary science and accelerate positive impacts for global society. To help scientists solve bigger problems faster we are identifying, developing, and amplifying the next generation of science leaders. Through our Fellowship, we are building a community of scientists and supporters of interdisciplinary science and leveraging this network to drive sector-wide change. Schmidt Science Fellows is an initiative of Schmidt Sciences, delivered in partnership with the Rhodes Trust.

    Funding Amount: $110,000 USD for up to two years of post-doc study

  • Wellcome Trust — Early-Career Awards

    Description: The Wellcome Trust supports bold and creative discovery research that has the potential to improve human life, health, and well-being. The Early-Career Awards provide funding for early-career researchers from any discipline who are ready to develop their research identity through innovative projects. Research can be in any discipline, including STEM, experimental medicine, or climate – as long as it has the potential to improve human life. The Trust covers the researcher’s salary and up to £400 thousand for research expenses. The applicant’s host organization has to be based in the UK, the Republic of Ireland, or a low- or middle-income country (apart from India and mainland China).

  • CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

    Description: The CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is one of the most prestigious training opportunities in immunology and cancer immunology. It supports outstanding young researchers at the world’s leading universities and research institutions, providing the resources, mentorship, and professional development needed to launch independent scientific careers at the forefront of discovery.

    Funding Amount: Fellowships provide three years of support, including a stipend of $74,000 USD, $76,000 USD, and $78,000 USD in years 1-3

  • Amnion Foundation Seed Grant Program

    Description: The Amnion Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 organization specializing in the repurposing of otherwise discarded birth tissues (placenta and umbilical cord) for the generation of primary human cells to support advancements in regenerative medicine and drug discovery. Available cell types include umbilical vein-derived endothelial cells, placental tissue-derived endothelial cells, cytotrophoblasts, macrophages, classical umbilical cord-derived MSC, and pericyte-like placental stem/stromal cells.

    Funding Amount: Primary cells and supporting reagents valued at up to $10,000 USD; Technical support will also be provided to the recipients for their selected cell type(s).
